‘AK-47 203’ Rifles Deal Finalised Between India-Russia At SCO Summit

New Delhi : The deal between India and Russia on AK-47 203 rifles is confirmed. The AK-47 203 is considered the most advanced version of the AK-47 rifles. Now this rifle can be manufactured on a large scale in India as well. Russian media was informed about this deal on Thursday. The AK-203 rifle is an advanced version of the AK-47 rifle.

This will replace the Indian Small Arms System (INSAS) 5.56x45mm rifle. According to Russian government news agency Sputnik, the Indian Army needs about 770,000 AK-47 203 rifles, of which one lakh will be imported and the rest will be manufactured in India. These rifles will be manufactured in India under the joint venture Indo-Russian Rifle Private Limited (IRRPL).

The deal was signed between the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) and Kalashnikov Concern and Rosoboronexport. According to the information, this 7.62 x 39 mm Russian weapon will be produced at the Korvaaudh factory in Uttar Pradesh, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year.

According to the news, it is expected to cost around $ 1,100 per rifle, including technology transfer costs and setting up of the manufacturing unit. According to the news of Sputnik, INSAS rifles have been used since 1996. Rifles of this old version are facing many problems, now the AK-47 203 will be used on a large scale.
