Mumbai : Dean Jones has died at the age of 59. He has died due to a heart attack in Mumbai. In recent times, Jones was also very active on social media. Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has shared the information of his demise. Dean Jones was counted as one of Australia’s finest cricketers. He represented Australia in 52 Tests, 164 ODIs. Dean Jones had the highest score of 216 in Tests and 145 runs in ODIs.

Dean Jones, born in Melbourne, has played 52 Test matches and scored 3631 runs at an average of 46.55. Jones scored 11 centuries with a 216 as his best score and was an important member of Allan Border’s team.

He scored 3631 runs in Test cricket at an average of 46.55 which included 11 centuries and 14 half-centuries. In ODIs, Jones scored 6068 runs at an impressive average of 44.61, with seven centuries and 46 half-centuries. Jones caught 34 catches in Test cricket and 54 in ODIs. Talking about first class cricket, Dean scored 19188 runs in 245 first class matches, his unbeaten 324 runs was his highest score in first class matches.

Jones was one of the first Australian batsmen cut out for the limited-overs game and he was quite successful at it.
