Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath formed SIT to investigate Hathras gangrape incident

New Delhi: After midnight cremation of Rape victims dead body, the Hathras gangrape incident has created shockwaves across the nation. Ahead of it , Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday formed a three-member SIT to investigate Hathras gangrape incident . The team has been ordered to submit a report within 7 days. Further, the Chief Minister also ordered for trial of the case in a fast-track court.

According to official sources, the SIT will comprise home secretary Bhagwan Swaroop, DIG Chandra Prakash and IPS officer Poonam.

The Dalit teen was allegedly sexually attacked by four upper-caste men on September 14. The accused had tried to strangle her to death as she resisted their rape attempt and in the process. She was then admitted to hospital later transferred Safardganj hospital were she took her last breath on Tuesday .

The body of the 20-year-old woman was cremated at around 3 AM by Uttar Pradesh police on Wednesday. If reports are to be believed, the UP Police forcibly performed the last rites without giving heed to the family’s repeated requests of bringing the body home first. According to doctors, the victim died due to injury to the throat and spinal cord. The victim also suffered a hip injury due to dragging and falling. The lower part was not working. She was unable to move due to a neck injury.

The outrage over the Hathras case become more wild after the body of dalit teen was cremated by locking family up in their house in the middle of night on Wednesday.
