Vadodara : Huge number of Vadodara Railway employees have come in the grip of Coronavirus. About 350 RT-PCR tests and about 400 rapid tests were conducted by Vadodara Railway. The total number of corona infected patients has reached 190. This includes railway employees and their families. Vadodara Railway employees and their families have been admitted to Pratapnagar Railway Hospital for treatment of corona. While some other employees have chosen to be home quarantined.
The RT-PCR and Rapid Kit were given to the Vadodara Railway Department by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation in August for testing the corona. Rounds of Dhanvantar Rath were then completed at Pratapnagar Railway Colony and Yard. Railway officials, employees and family members were tested. However, no case were come out in this tests. More than 400 RT-PCR tests were conducted by Pratapnagar Railway Hospital at present considering the severity of the corona. Out of which 40 tests came positive. In rapid tests, as many as 150 positive cases were come out. As a result, the railway system has been shaken.
According to Dr. Krishnakumar, Additional Chief Medical Superintendent, Railway Hospital, Pratapnagar, a total of 750 tests were performed on RT-PCR and Rapid Test. Out of which, 190 people have tested positive who are currently undergoing treatment. Time to time updates of people who are in home quarantine are also being done.
