Farm Bills : Protest Continues, Youth Congress Workers Set Fire To Tractor At India Gate

New Delhi : The farmers’ opposition to the agriculture bill is still going on. Farmers are protesting in Delhi. Meanwhile, workers of Punjab Youth Congress reached Rajpath near India Gate on Monday morning and set a tractor on fire in protest against the Farmers Bill.

Police said that the people who have set the fire, are being identified. All the people had brought posters of Bhagat Singh. The workers also raised slogans against the central government. The protestors brought the old tractor loading in a truck and set fire to it near the India gate on Monday morning.

The incident took place amid protests by farmers and opposition parties across the country in protest against the agriculture bills passed in Parliament last week. According to fire officials, they received information about the incident at 7.42 am and two fire engines were sent to the spot immediately.

At the same time, Delhi Police has detained 5 people in connection with the burning of a tractor on Rajpath. The names of these five are Manjot Singh, Ramandeep Singh Sindhu, Rahul, Sahib and Sumit.

According to fire brigade officials, they received information about the incident at 7.42 am and two fire brigade vehicles were sent to the spot immediately. Ish Singhal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) said, “Around 15-20 people gathered between 7.15 am and 7.30 am and set the tractor on fire. The fire has been extinguished and the tractor has been removed from there. Legal action is being taken in the case. People involved in the incident are also being identified.”
