In a unique style, consumer panchayat activist protested against potholes

Ambegaon: A unique protest came to light in Ambegaon taluka of the district on Manchar-Ranjani road. The agitation was carried by Taluka Consumer Panchayat activist. They drew rangoli around the potholes on road and made offerings of Puranpoli. This was done to humiliate and grab the attention of government over the poor condition of roads.

The 50 to 60 activists participated in the protest consisting Consumer Panchayat Taluka President Dnyaneshwar Unde, Organizer Subhash Mavkar, Ganesh Thorat, Kailas Mavkar, Pramila Temgire, Mangesh Temgire, Dagdu Lokhande, Sandeep Wable, Santosh Bangar, District Vice President Ashok Bhor, District Energy Committee Head Nitin Minde from every village on this route. Protest was conducted by following all the rules of the coronavirus.

Manchar Ranjani is the 112nd state route and the nearest route to reach the Belhe, Ahmednagar district via Pune. The eastern part of Ambegaon taluka and Junnar taluka travels to Manchar in the same way. The lareg number of students travel through this. Apart from it the road is used for transporting of agricultural goods, milk and other essential goods.

Every hour, qbout 200 to 400 vehicles run on this, yet there are many potholes on this road. Several time demands were made to fill the potholes but not heard.

The agitation was organized on behalf of Ambegaon Taluka Consumer Panchayat to draw the attention of the administration. Nitin Minde of Pune District Consumer Panchayat has appealed to the administration to fill the potholes on this road immediately.
