Mahabaleshwar: A local cricketer died by suicide at his residence on Sunday night, the police said. Identified as Sandeep Subhash Bhilare, 35, the deceased was the resident of Ganeshnagar Society in Mahabaleshwar. He was a cricket enthusiast and played as an all-rounder.
According to the information given by police, Bhilare had updated status on his social media saying, “Take care of my parents and child”. Upon seeing Sandeep’s status, few of his friends informed his relatives.
The relatives then went to Bhilare’s house. The door of his house was locked from inside. After not getting any response, his relatives broke open the door only to find him dead. The reason for taking such an extreme step is yet to be investigated, informed police officials.
Bhilare is survived by his parents, wife, and a one-year-old son.
