Mumbai: Eight months pregnant doctor serving patients in Mulund Covid centre

Mumbai: Despite being eight pregnant, Dr. Sarita Dattatraya Bambale hasn’t shied away from performing her duty as a healthcare official in a covid care centre at Mulund.

Wearing the PPE kit as a shield, she has stepped into to help those who are fighting the deadly virus. She hasn’t stepped behind even after learning that the cases are rapidly increasing.

Dr.Sarita is heading a department at the Mulund Covid care centre and has been working non stop since June. Speaking about her experience as a doctor and an expecting mother at the same time, she said, “While I know I am responsible for the safety of my baby, I cannot forget the responsibility I have towards the society. If during such testing times I sit at home, what is the use of my education ?”

Dr Sarita’s husband too is in the healthcare field and have a six year old daughter too. The doctor couple recollects on how they’ve maintained distance from their daughter for the past nine months and haven’t even hugged her.
