PM Modi interacts with beneficiaries of PM Swanidhi Yojana, tells it’s a new beginning

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing Swanidhi Sanawad said, no work has been done for poor as much as done in last 6 years’. The Prime Minister through video conference addressed one lakh street vendors of Madhya Pradesh benefiting from PM Swanidhi Yojana.

He said, that the objective of this scheme is that they can start afresh and through the help of easy capital create new life, a stable life. This is also the first time that the network of millions of street vendors has been truly connected to the system, they have got an identity.

A new beginning is already initiated by collaborating with banks and digital payment facilitators to ensure that our street vendors do not lag behind in digital shop-keeping. Now, the representatives of banks and institutions will come to your street, cart and give QR code.

Referring to other schemes of the government related to the welfare of the poor, the Prime Minister said that the government has also started a new scheme to provide better accommodation in cities at reasonable rent. One Country, One Ration Card Scheme will also allow you to get ration at reasonable price anywhere in the country.

2.45 lakh eligible beneficiaries applied for the scheme which went through bank procedures for credit facility, out of which acceptance has been granted to 1.4 lakh street vendors of amount worth 140 crore rupees.

Madhya Pradesh stands first in the number of total applications accepted under this scheme. AIR correspondent reports that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said this scheme is a boon for the poor. This will change the life of the street vendors. He assured that those who are being deprived of this scheme also gave benefit of it.
