New Delhi: Within 20 days, 2000 Rs were transferred to 30 lakhs farmer’s bank accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. The total beneficiaries upto this month are 8 crore 81 lakh. By November this year, about 1 .70 crore farmers are likely to receive 2000/-.
According to the Union Ministry of Agriculture, till September 30, about 10 crore 50 lakh farmers of the country had registered under this scheme. These are farmers whose papers are well maintained. The government wants the money directly transferred to more farmers to increase their income. The Modi government has set a target to double farmers’ income by 2022.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme is the first scheme of the Ministry of Agriculture flagged by the Modi Government for doubling farmers’ Income. Swaminathan Foundation has suggested increasing the amount given under the PM Kisan Scheme from Rs 6000 to Rs 15,000 annually. On the other hand, Vinod Anand, the founder member of Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh and Pushpendra Singh, president of Kisan Shakti Sangh, have demanded an increase to 24 thousand rupees.
Who can be the beneficiary-
Farmers who are former or present constitutional post holders, current or former ministers, mayors or district panchayat presidents, MLAs, MLC, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs will not be considered a beneficiary
Officers in the central or state government and farmers getting more than 10 thousand pension are not benefited. The rest will be eligible.
Professionals, doctors, engineers, CAs, lawyers, architects, whoever does farming, will not get any benefit.
Farmers who paid income tax in the last financial year will be deprived of this benefit.
Central and State Government Multi Tasking Staff / Class IV / Group D employees will get benefits.
Those who have not received any money in their account should verify and rectify the documents.. If there is a mistake in the Aadhaar, account number and bank account number, then correct it, so that there is no problem in getting the money.
