Pune: Bhim Army opens office at Koregaon Bhima

Pune: Bhim Army organisation has decided to open its office in the communally sensitive zone of Koregaon-Bhima area near Pune city. The Bhim Army is starting its office on the occasion of birthday of its chief Chandrashekhar Azad.

The office is located near the main junction just ahead of victory pillar (Vijay Stambh) and it will act as the main office for the Pune district for communication with party members across the district.

Koregaon Bhima had witnessed riots between two communities in January 2018. Considering the riot-sensitive zone, Pune Rural police have granted permission to the office inauguration ceremony and have warned leaders to restrain from making any provocative remarks.

The Koregaon Bhima area comes under the jurisdiction of Shikrapur police station. On the backdrop of Covid-19 outbreak, police have imposed restrictions on the gathering of number of persons in the area.
