Pune: Graduation Day organised by Federation of International Students Association

Pune : Federation of International Students Association Pune (FISA-P) organised Graduation Day at Westin Hotel in Koregaon Park Pune for foreign students studying in Pune. More than 300 Students from over 58 countries were present during this program. The purpose of the program was to give insight about celebrating and promoting the vivid diversity of culture.

Prof Dr Sanjay Chordiya, President and Chairman of Suryadatta Group of Institutes was the Chief Guest for the ceremony. Other dignitaries present included Prof Dr Vijay Khare, Director of International Centre at Savitribai Phule Pune University, Shafiqullah Ibrahimi, Acting Consul General and Head of Cultural, Consulate of Afghanistan, Dr S P Singh, Founder LPCPS and Prof Nirupama Prakash, International Director, Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Abba Oumar, President of FISA-Pune and other student representatives.

The event started with Afghani dance and cultural program. After the cultural program, about 300 students from 58 countries including Chad, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Cameroon, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Zambia, Nigeria, Djibouti, Turkey, Gambia, Congo, South Africa, Angola, Malawi, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Rwanda, Kazakhstan, Burundi, Guinea, Lesotho, Ethiopia, Maldives, Ukraine, Russia, Ivory coast, Niger, Thailand, Botswana, Mozambique, Gabon, Benin republic, Swaziland, Madagascar, Eritrea, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Morocco, Somali, Mauritius and Seychelles were present for the event.

Prof Dr Sanjay Chordiya welcomed all the foreign students. He said, “Suryadatta empathises with foreign students studying in India and therefore established a common forum under SURYADATTA INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL and CULTURAL CENTRE (SIECC) to facilitate the International Students’ stay and to help them to gain initial grounding for studies and stay. The International students studying in Pune need support in their social & personal activities so that they can perform better.”

Dr Chordiya added that the infrastructure at Suryadatta is always available for foreign students for their programs.Invitation also given to all the foreign students to experience value, tradition and academics at Suryadatta Group of Institutes.

Prof Khare gave insights into the Foreign student policies, guidelines and other necessary information about the Pune University International Student Cell.
