Pune: The official answer key for Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced 2020 will be released on Tuesday (September 29) 10 am. Students can thereafter match their answers. In case of wrong answer key they can challenge it by Wednesday (September 30) 5pm. The final result for the exam will be declared on October 5 at 10 am.

The JEE Advanced was conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi on September 27. Over 1.60 lakh candidates had appeared for the examination. The exam was held at 1,150 centres in 222 cities across the country. The number of exam centres were increased by the National Testing Agency (NTA) this year due to the COVID-19 guidelines.

More than 2500 students from Pune city and district appeared for the exams. The first paper was scheduled at 9am to 12 noon. Second paper was scheduled at 2.30pm to 5.30pm. Candidates said that this year difficulty level of both the papers was high. Hence the cut-off for Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and National Institute of Technology (NIT) will be between 150 to 180 marks.

Physics paper difficult

In the morning paper, students found the physics section to be the toughest. Students have to attempt 54 questions in each of the two papers. 18 questions each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are asked for a total of 396 marks. The 2016 JEE Advanced question papers had similar level of difficulty. Students had six months additional time for preparing for the exam. Hence the difficulty level might have been kept high. Therefore this year the cut-off might be between 150 to 180 marks, experts have predicted.

How to check answers

Arun Jain, Centre Head of Allen Career Institute said, “Students should fill up information like registration number, birth date, mobile number and log in to the JEE Advanced portal. Students will be able to see their answer books alongside the answer key on the portal. Students can thereafter compare their answers and understand whether they have answered the questions correctly or not.”
