New Delhi : The Railways on Thursday announced that 11.58 lakh non-gazetted employees will get a bonus equal to 78 days’ salary in the financial year 2019-20. The total productivity based bonus for railway employees is estimated at Rs 2,081.68 crore.
A meeting of the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a proposal to give a bonus of 78 days’ salary to all its eligible non-Gazetted employees (excluding RPF / RPSF employees) of the Railway Ministry for 2019-20. Salary assessment limit for non-gazetted railway employees eligible for bonus has been fixed at Rs. 7000 per month.
According to a statement from the Railway Ministry, railway employees can get a maximum bonus of Rs 17,951 for 78 days. This decision will benefit about 11.58 lakh non-gazetted employees of the railways. Railway Productivity Based Bonus (PLB) covers all non-Gazetted employees (excluding RPF / RPSF employees). Railway employees get PLB every year before Durga Puja / Dussehra. This year too, by the decision of the Cabinet, it will be available before Durga Puja / Dussehra holidays. The decision was taken in the hope that the railway staff would be motivated to further improve their work, Railways said.
