Rajeev Kapoor dies at 58

Pune: Son of legendary actor Raj Kapoor, Rajeev Kapoor passed away in Mumbai on Tuesday. He was 58.

He suffered a heart attack at his residence in Chembur following which he was rushed to Inlaks Hospital. He was declared dead at the hospital.

Rajeev’s sister-in-law and wife of late Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor confirmed the news on her Instagram.

Grandson of legendary Prithwiraj Kapoor, Rajeev was youngest among three brothers. His elder brother and famous Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor died in April last year at the age of 67

Rajeev Kapoor featured in many Hindi films. He made his debut in ‘Ek Jaan Hain Hum’ in 1983. However, he got recognition through his performance in ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ in 1985. The film was directed by Raj Kapoor

Rajeev last appeared in ‘Zimmedaar’ in 1990 after which he moved to producing and directing. He produced ‘Heena’ starring his brother Rishi Kapoor in 1991. He made his directorial debut with ‘Prem Granth’ in 1996 but the film failed to score at the box office.
