New Delhi : In the midst of continuing deadlock from China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, the Ministry of Defense tweeted for citizens on Monday midnight that they should sleep peacefully as the army is there to protect them. This tweet was done by Udhampur Public Relations Office (PRO) of Jammu and Kashmir. In the tweet, it wrote, “Sleep Peacefully Fellow Citizens. They Stand Guard!.” On the other hand, China once again tried to change the status quo in Ladakh, but the already vigilant Indian soldiers did not allow their plans to succeed.

The Indian Army said on Monday that Chinese forces in eastern Ladakh carried out provocative military activity to unilaterally change the status quo on the southern side of Pangong Tso (lake) on the intervening night of August 29 and 30, but Indian troops has thwarted his attempt. Army spokesman Colonel Aman Anand said that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China violated the previous consensus formed through military and diplomatic level talks on the East Ladakh deadlock and carried out provocative military activity to change the status quo.

Government sources said that a large number of Chinese troops were marching towards the southern shore of Pangong Tso (lake) as part of the effort to occupy the area, but Indian troops immediately flocked in large numbers to thwart the attempt. He said that during China’s attempt to open a new front, there was no physical conflict between the soldiers of both sides. The tension between the two sides continues on the northern side of Pangong Tso for a long time, but this is the first time the incident has occurred on the southern side of the lake.
