Veteran filmmaker Johnny Bakshi dies at the age 82

Mumbai: Director Johnny Bakshi passed away late on 4th September.Now he is no longer in this world. Johnny Bakshi worked with many Bollywood actors. He was not only the best director but also a better producer. He produced the Rajesh Khanna and Gulshan Grover starrer film Khudai.

Johnny Bakshi worked as an assistant to Raj Khosla for many years. Johnny has also worked as producer and co-producer in many films including Manzil Manoran, Mera Dost Mera Dushman, Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayi and ‘Is Raat Ki Subah Nahi’.

Johnny Bakshi was a cinematographer. He also named his son Brando after being inspired by famous Hollywood actor Marlon Brando. Johnny Bakshi worked as an assistant to Raj Khosla for many years

The last film of Bakshi’s career was Kajrare starring Himesh Reshammiya and his film was released in the year 2010. Himesh Reshammiya, Sara Lorraine and Amrita Singh played lead roles in this film.

Apart from this, Johnny Bakshi was also an active member of the association of the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA).

.At present, the Bollywood industry has suffered a major setback with his death. Many have paid him homage on twitter.

Actors such as Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher, who had worked with Johnny Bakshi, posted tributes on Twitter. “Sorry to learn about the passing away of filmmaker Johnny Bakshi this morning… Did a film with him Vishwasghaat very early in my career. He was invested in cinema. Condolences to the family and friends,” tweeted Shabana Azmi. Remembering Johnny Bakshi, Mr Kher wrote: “He was a very integral part of my early life in Mumbai. As a producer, friend, a supporter and as a motivator.”
