Want nursery admission for your child in 2021? Check out state gov’s new criteria

Pune: In a new decision taken by the state government, a child will now have to be above three years for nursery admission. The same was sanctioned by Dattatraya Jagtap, director of primary education.
Maharashtra’s school education department has modified the uniform age criteria for nursery children and the admission process will be carried out accordingly.
As per the decision of the government dated January 25, 2017, the cut-off age to reach minimum age was declared as September 30 for school admission, whereas the government has fixed it as December 31.
Children born between 1st October 2017 to 31st December 2018 will get admission to the nursery. Children from 1 October 2016 to 31 December 2017 will get admission in LKG. Children from 1st October 2014 to 31st December 2015 will be eligible for admission in Class I.
The child must be at least three years old for nursery and six years old for the class 1st. All schools in the state should abide by the rules for admission, Jagtap said in the order.
