Pune: The Ministry of Health has recommended all TB patients to get tests for COVID-19 and all the COVID-19 positive patients to take TB tests.

TB is caused by a type of bacteria known as Micro bacterium tuberculosis. However, both the diseases mainly attack the lungs and people with TB and corona virus infection show similar symptoms like cough, fever, difficulty breathing.

According to the WHO, both biological agents spread mainly through close contact who are already exposed to the disease in TB.

The fact is, if the lungs are already a victim of some disease, such as TB, it becomes easier to get infected with the coronavirus. Although no data is available on this yet, medical experts have warned that those who are TB patients have an increased risk of getting infected with other infections, including corona.

How can TB affected can prevent coronavirus

Whether one has TB or not, one must take precautions to protect against coronavirus. In which:

Physical distance: Stay at least 6 feet away from people.

Wash hands: Wash hands several times a day for at least 20 seconds with soap and water.

Do not touch the face without washing your hands.

Avoid meeting people who are ill or feeling weak.

Wear a mask
