Pune: Shiv Sena leader and Executive Editor of Dainik Saamana – a mouth piece of the party – has thrown a dare at the Enforcement Directorate over a summons issued to his wife Varsha in a case related to the PMC Bank fraud.
After the ED summoned Varsha Raut for questioning on December 29, Sanjay Raut vented out his anger on Twitter and posted an image in which he says ‘Aa dekhe zara kisme kitna hai dum, jamke rakhna kadam mere sathiya.’ The tweet image posted by Sanjay Raut is with black background indicating his displeasure over the ED’s move.

A senior ED official told media persons, “We have asked Varsha Raut to appear before the agency on December 29 in connection with the case.”
The official said that she has been asked to appear at its Mumbai office.The financial probe agency had summoned Varsha Raut to appear on December 11, but she did not turn up.
Earlier, the agency has summoned the party’s Maharashtra MLA Pratap Sarnaik in connection with another money laundering probe.
The ED registered a case of money laundering against Housing Development Infrastructure Ltd (HDIL) promoter Rakesh Kumar Wadhawan, his son Sarang Wadhawan, Waryam Singh and Joy Thomas, the then Chairman and Managing Director of PMC Bank Ltd, respectively and others on the basis of an FIR registered by the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing in September last year.
The FIR was registered for causing wrongful loss to the tune of Rs 4,355 crore to PMC Bank and corresponding gain to themselves.
