Here’s how your child can participate in national level toy and game design competition by Muktangan Exploratory Science Center

Pune: Muktangan Exploratory Science Center has organised national level toy and game design competition. ‘Toyman’ Padmashri Arvind Gupta will inaugurate the competition titled ‘Khel Khel Mein’ on November 1 at 11 am in a virtual event in presence of Mrs Leena Mehendale, Chairperson of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Pune Kendra.

* Students from the 5th to 10th grade can participate in Junior Category
* Students studying in the 11th Grade and above can participate in Senior Category

The competition is planned in two stages.

First stage : Ideas

Participants are expected to submit the ideas about their entry. The last date for the Idea Stage is December 15, 2020.

Second stage : Concept Design

Participants are expected to submit a working model of the idea. The last date for the Concept Design stage is February 15, 2021.

An online exhibition of all the entries will be organized on Feb 28 2021. Winners of the competition will also be announced on Science Day (February 28). Prizes worth Rs 2 lakh will be awarded in the various categories.

Nandkumar Kakirde, Honorary Secretary, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Anant Bhide, Honorary Director of Muktangan Exploratory Science Center said, “Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clarion call of ‘Team up for Toys’, Muktangan Exploratory has organized this Toy Game Design Competition. Students can participate with their entries in the categories of Toys, Games or Projects – all of which will be based on Indian culture, mythology, history or geography. The objective of the competition is to boost creativity amongst students and make them enjoy the process of brainstorming innovative ideas and bringing those ideas to fruition.”

Neha Nirgudkar, Deputy Director of Center said, “An Education Series, which will be free of cost to everyone, is planned from November 20. The Education Series will provide access to online courses, hands-on workshops and expert Lectures. The Education Series will cover topics like Game Design, Thinking Skills, Toy Making, Fabrication Technology, and Programming Skills & Electronics. Free consultation & interaction sessions to facilitate the students will be conducted Live of Social Media. Teachers & Educators from all the institutes are requested to make the best use of the opportunity.”
