Pune: A gang of seven miscreants ransacked the Durga Vasahat area in Khadki Bazaar on Tuesday evening. The gang members, along with two juveniles, also attacked a 20-year-old boy who stood fearlessly amidst the chaos in the area. Khadki police have arrested seven members of the gang.
Sameer Akbar Patel (20) has filed a complaint in this regard with Khadki police. He has sustained serious injuries in the attack by the suspects. Police have identified the suspects as Subham Aglave (19), Deepak Aglave (18), Aniket Chandane (19), Vyankatesh Mudaliyar (20), Sharad Tayde (20), Kapil Bhosale (19) and Rohit Landge (20).
According to police, the complainant was standing with his friend in Khadki Bazaar area on Tuesday evening at around 6.30pm. While they were chatting, a gang of seven boys came and started ransacking the area with weapons and sticks in their hands. All traders and citizens in the area were scared and started running helter-skelter.
In this chaos, the complainant stood fearlessly in the area upon which the gang got furious. They marched towards the youth who then tried to run away to save his life. But the suspects chased him and attacked with the weapons and sticks. Meanwhile police got a tipoff about the ransacking and a team rushed to the spot.
