Pune: A single-judge bench of Special Judge GP Agarwal sentenced a 46-year-old man to five years rigorous imprisonment and imposed fine of Rs 3,000 for sexually assaulting his 13-year-old daughter. The court ordered if the victim fails to pay the fine, he will face one more month of imprisonment.
According to the information, the incident took place between April and June 2014. The girl’s mother had lodged a complaint at the Kothrud police station. The complainant lives with her husband and three children in Kothrud.
She had noticed some behavioral changes in her husband towards their youngest daughter. Even the little girl would look uncomfortable in her father’s company. Upon questioning the girl told her mother about the ordeal she went through.
The mother approached an NGO and lodged a police complaint against her husband. Additional Public Prosecutor Sunil More argued on behalf of the plaintiff and examined three witnesses.
