MCCIA launches monthly interaction series for start-up ecosystem stakeholders in city

Pune: Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) has launched a monthly interaction series for stakeholders in the start-up ecosystem in the city. MCCIA has set up an ‘Incubation and Start-Ups’ Committee which will facilitate this series on every third Friday of month till March 2021.

The committee aims to synergise the strengths of the incubators and provide a platform for networking amongst themselves as well as with other stakeholders in the city. MCCIA President Sudhir Mehta, Director General Prashant Girbane, Committee Chairperson Vishwas Mahajan, NASSCOM Director 10,000 Start-ups Kritika Murugesan, TIE Pune Acting President Vineet Patni, PIC-Social Innovation Lab Head Mandar Joshi, COEP Bhau Institute CEO Vijay Talele, Pimpri-Chinchwad Start-up Incubation Centre MD Kiran Vaidya, Science and Technology Park Group Director (Innovation and Entrepreneurship) Vikram Saraph, MITCON Technology Business Incubation Centre Head Chandrashekhar Bhosale participated in the first virtual meeting conducted on Friday (December 18).

Mehta said, “Close collaboration between stakeholders is necessary for an ecosystem to become successful. The objective of this initiative is to give start-ups access to customers. Pune has the capacity to become global centre of innovation and MCCIA.”

Vaidya stressed on the need of incubators in the city while Patni expressed confidence that the angel investment in city-based start-ups is picking up.
