Kolkata: Hasin Jahan, wife of cricketer Mohammed Shami, has filed a petition in the High Court demanding protection of herself and her daughter. The petitioner has accused the police of inaction on the complaint made on August 9. The complaint was made as she was getting threats for posting a post on a social media regarding Ram temple.
The petition os likely to be heard next week. Hasin Jahan lodged a complaint with the cyber police station of Lal Bazar Street, Kolkata.
According to Hasin Jahan, she congratulated the people of the country on the foundation stone of Ram temple in Ayodhya on August 5 from her social media account. After which she has come under target of the fundamentalists and is being threatened on her social media account.
Hasin Jahan had told about this, “On August 5, I congratulated the Bhumipujan of Ram temple through social media, to all Hindu brothers and sisters. For this reason, some radical people commented on me using abusive language. I was also threatened with rape threats. Later, I filed complaint with police”.
Hasin Jahan have been very active on social media. Shami was accused of domestic violence by his wife Haseen Jahan. The proceedings are going on in the court.
