Navratri 2020: Farmers introduce fasting baskets with nine coloured fruits to mark nine days of Navratri

Pune: With the festive season fully on and most people indulging in the festive preparations, the farmers of the Shirdi-based KisanKonnect, a Farmers Producers Company (FPO), have introduced ‘fasting baskets’ which mark the festivals of Navratri and Dussehra. The fasting baskets include festive-themed nine coloured fruits.

The Navrang Basket, as it is called, consists of nine fresh seasonal fruits, and represents the days of nine colours of Navratri, The fruits offered in the basket include Wooden Apple, Oranges, White Dragon Fruit, Red Apple, Blueberry, Banana, Green Kiwi, Purple Plum and Green Apple.

The Navratri basket also includes items such as Bhagar, Sabudana, Potatoes and Sweet Potatoes, which are heavily consumed during the fasting period.
