Navratri is around the corner, here are the Nine days and Nine colours

Pune: The Sharadiya Navratri will begin from October 17. In other words, the festive season is soon starting with its first festival Navratri from October 17. These nine days are very special to worship and please the goddess. In these nine days, nine forms of Adishakti Maa, Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda,  Katyayani, Kalratri,  Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri are worshiped.  As per the mythology, these nine divine forms of the goddess defeats all the sufferings of the devotees. In the scriptures, the importance of the beloved colors of the goddesses is also mentioned.

Shailputri is worshiped on the first day of Navratri. She was named Shailputri as she was the daughter of the mountain king Himalayas. She loved the red color, red color is considered to be the color of strength and gaiety. Therefore, on this day, the goddess is happy by using red color and gives the desired fruit.

Goddess Brahmacharini is worshipped on the second day of Navratri. She loves yellow. One should wear yellow clothes while worshiping her. Goddess Brahmacharini brings stability to the mind.

Chandraghanta is worshiped on the third day of Navratri. Goddess wears a semi-moon on her head. Hence they are called Chanthanta. You can please goddess by using green color on this day. All the evil powers are removed by the sound of Maa Chandraghanta’s hour.

Goddess Kushmanda is worshiped on the fourth day of Navratri. She created the universe with her dim smile. That is why they are called Kushmanda. You can make her happy by using gray color. With the grace of goddess Kushmanda, the seeker gains wealth and fame.

Goddess Skandamata is worshiped on the fifth day of Navratri. She is the presiding goddess of Suryamandal. So her favorite color is orange.

On the sixth day of Navratri, Katyayani forms Adishakti. Shaktiswarupa’s goddess is worshipped. She loves the color white symbolizing peace.

Goddess Kalratri is worshiped on the seventh day of Navratri, also called as Shubhankari. Maa Kalratri loves pink color. You should wear pink coloured clothes while worshiping her

Goddess Mahagauri, Annapurna is worshiped on the eighth day of Navratri. They are called Gauri due to Gaur varna. The goddess colour is sky colour.

Goddess Siddhidatri is worshiped on Navam or Navami Tithi ofNavratri. Goddess is the one to provide all the accomplishments. Lord Shiva also attained perfection by her grace. Use of light blue color is auspicious on this day.
