Pune bound AirAsia flight delayed at Jaipur airport; passengers suffer

Pune: Unascertained smoke was detected at tail end of a Pune-bound AirAsia flight just before take off from the Jaipur airport.  The incident took place on Friday evening around 5.20 pm at the Jaipur airport. The pilot of the flight noticed the fire and immediately halted the take off. The flight was delayed by over an hour due to inspection procedure before it could take off again, causing suffering to passengers.

According to sources, the AirAsia I5-142 Jaipur to Pune flight was about to take off on Friday evening. The pilot notices smoke coming out from the tail end of the plane. The pilot immediately grounded the flight and informed the Air Traffic Control (ATC) and airlines technical staff about the same.

The air traffic control commanded the pilot to immediately return the plane to the apron.

A thorough technical inspection of the flight was done for about an hour. However, no technical fault was identified with the plane. Passengers had to suffer an hour long delay before the flight was allowed to take off for Pune. No harm was caused to any passenger during the flight and it landed safely at Pune airport later.
