Pune: City to get five new police stations Wagholi, Kharadi, Baner, Nanded City, Kalepadal on January 26

Pune: The state government has approved creation of five new police stations in the city. These five new police stations are Wagholi, Kharadi, Baner, Nanded City and Kalepadal. Pune Rural Police will also get one new police station of Uruli Kanchan.

The jurisdiction of existing police stations like Lonikand and Loni Kalbhor will be modified to create Uruli Kanchan police station, while Haveli police station jurisdiction will be changed to create Nanded City police station.

Chatuhshrungi police station jurisdiction will be modified to create Baner police station. Hadapsar police station jurisdiction will be changes to create Kalepadal police station and Chandannagar police station for Kharadi police station respectively.

Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta confirmed the developments. “There is a meeting scheduled with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Monday (January 4) regarding this. The exact date for creation of these police stations will be decided tomorrow but it will be around January 26.”

The meeting has been called by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar. It will be attended by Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, Hadapsar MLA Chetan Tupe, Wadgaon Sheri MLA Sunil Tingre, Shirur MLA Ashok Pawar, Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta, Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural) Dr Abhinav Deshmukh and others.
