Pune District Collector sends official proposal for night curfew at party hotspots, farmhouses and resorts in rural areas from December 25

Pune: District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh has sent an official proposal to the Secretary of disaster management department of the state government on Thursday (December 24) seeking permission for imposing night curfew at various party hotspots in the jurisdiction of Pune district. The restrictions on movement during night hours – 11pm to 6am – will be applicable from December 25, 2020 to January 5, 2021 at all tourist locations and resorts and farm houses in the district once the state government approves the proposal

‘Deccan Express’ had exclusively reported on Wednesday (December 23) this proposal of Pune Rural Police to extend night curfew in nearby rural areas where citizens from Pune city intended to head for partying and celebrating Christmas and 31st December and New Year.

District Collector Deshmukh has also mentioned specific locations where the night curfew will be applicable. The locations are as follows:

·        Lonavala

·        Amby Valley

·        Lavasa City

·        Bhushi Dam

·        Mulshi Dam

·        Tamhini Ghat

·        Sinhagad Road

·        Khadakwasla

·        Hinjewadi IT Park

·        Chakan MIDC

·        Mhalunge

Additional Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural) Milind Mohite confirmed the developments and stated that Pune Rural Police teams will be conducting regular checks at all the resorts and farmhouses in the rural areas of the district as well as other tourist destinations if the state government gives its approval for the proposal.
