Pune: The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) officials raided three distributors located in Sadashiv Peth and Bajirao Road in Pune city and Chinchwad area in Pimpri-Chinchwad city. Medicines worth Rs 2 lakh having objectionable advertisement labels were seized during the raids which were conducted in the last three days. The action has been taken under the ‘Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, informed FDA Joint Commissioner (Drugs) S B Patil.
FDA Pune division officials seized Asthamin Syrup bottles worth Rs 1.29 lakh from Kundan Homeo Distributors of Bajirao road. These syrup bottles were sourced from Lords Homeopathic Laboratory of Haryana.
Stimulant-H Drop medicines worth Rs 16740 were seized from Kaushal Distributors in Chinchwad. These medicines were sourced from Wheezal Homoeopathy Pharma of Uttarakhand.
Dr M S Basu Isotine Eye Drops worth Rs 38581, sourced from Jagat Pharma were seized from D K Enterprises at Sadashiv Peth.
PDP Slim Drops worth Rs 34125 sourced from Pathak Drugs and Pharmaceuticals of Bhiwandi were seized from SDRM Healing Arts located in Bhavani Peth area in Satara.
Under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner D S Khivansara and Pratap Pawar, a team of Drug Inspectors Arun Godse, Shyamal Mahindrakar, S T Sawant, Bhagyashri Yadav, Shrutika Jadhav, M B Kavitkar and V V Nangare conducted the raids. The raids were conducted from December 16 to 18.
