Pune: After two separate incidences of sighting Gaur in Kothrud and Bavdhan area in a span of a fortnight, pictures of a rangale of deers – which were spotted at the Ashirwad Society on NDA road in Shivane, Uttam Nagar – surfaced on Tuesday (December 29). Within a few hours, the images went viral on social media platforms prompting the forest officials to issue a warning of not feeding the animals.
The Ashirwad Society is located on the road leading towards the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Shivane area of Uttam Nagar near Warje. The compound wall has been broken due to which animals from the adjacent jungle area have got direct access to the society. Several citizens were happy to spot deers in their society premises, however the stray dogs in the area posed a danger to these animals.
Meanwhile, some citizens contacted the forest officials about this incident. The forest officials too rushed to the spot to inspect the reasons behind straying of these animals. The forest officials have decided to write a letter to the NDA officials to reconstruct the broken compound wall in order to avoid any such incidents in the future.
