Pune: A 25-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a car driver in Wanawadi over a trivial reason. The car driver was furious as the girl refused to make way for his vehicle despite his continuous honking on the Handewadi road.
The girl has lodged a complaint in this regard at the Wanawadi police station. Accordingly, the car driver has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The girl was so frightened after the incident that she gathered courage to file the complaint only after two weeks of the incident.
According to police, the girl was riding her bike on Handewadi road on October 8. The suspect, car driver, was behind her and was continuously honking in order to overtake the two wheeler of the girl. Later the car driver managed to get near the girl and stopped her. He started abusing the girl and asked her why she ignored the car horn.
The girl asked him what had happened. Furious over this, the car driver stepped out of his vehicle and started beating her up. He banged the girl’s head on the bike handle and later molested her. Frightened over this sudden turn of events, the girl rushed to her home. After consulting with her parents, she finally decided to file a case against the car driver. Wanawadi police are investigating the case. The car driver is yet to be arrested.
