New Delhi: Initially, India has conducted lowest number of testing, now it has crossed 6 crores of testing. Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said in the Rajya Sabha that India will soon leave America behind in testing of Coronavirus.
The Health Minister said that for the past few months the state and central governments have been raging a war against Corona.
He further added, ‘History will remember PM Modi about how he kept an eye on every action regarding Corona for 8 consecutive months’.
India’s position better than the world
Health Minister said that due to the steps taken by the Central Government on Coronavirus along with the states, our situation has improved compared to the rest of the world. Whether we compare with America, Brazil or any other country, our situation is better than the rest.
Referring to figures he said, In July – August, 300 million corona cases and 5–6 million deaths were reported in India. The population of country is 135 crores and we are doing 11 lakh tests daily. America has done more than 50 million tests so far. We will soon leave America behind in testing.
In response to Health Minister, Congress has accused government of its negligence.
Congress MP Ghulam Nabi Azad, alleging negligence, said that the government wasted the golden months to stop the coronavirus.WHO gave a warning in December 2019. China being our neighbor, we should have been cautious earlier.
