Amravati : Police have arrested a couple for allegedly molesting a minor girl. According to information, main accused Suraj Ramteke (34) and his female accomplice, who took indecent photographs of the victim, were arrested on Tuesday by Frazerpura police.
The accused were presented before the court on Wednesday. The court has remanded both the accused to police custody till February 15 for violating and threatening the girl.
The incident took place from May 20, 2020 to February 8, 2021. The duo was assaulting and threatening the girl for the last 10 months.
According to the police, the accused woman had called the victim to her home on the pretext of housework. She then spiked her drink. After she became unconscious, her male partner violated the minor girl while the woman clicked pictures.
The complaint was registered by the victim at Frazerpura police station. The couple has been charged under the POCSO Act. Frazerpura police are currently investigating the case.
