Pune: A 19-year-old girl and a newborn baby was abandoned by her 24-year-old lover from Osmanabad. The girl has lodged a complaint in this regard against the boy at the Loni Kalbhor police station. The boy has been booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code related to sexual offences and cheating.
The suspect has been identified as Swapnil Kisan Kshirsagar, a resident of Tuljapur in Osmanabad district. Swapnil allegedly lured the girl into marriage and forced her to keep physical relations. The girl had conceived a baby and 10 days back delivered a baby boy. Knowing this, Swapnil fled from Loni Kalbhor area and cheated the girl. A team of Loni Kalbhor police has been sent to Osmanabad to nab the suspect, said police inspector Sooraj Bandgar.
According to police, the girl is from Buldhana district and had come to stay with her relatives in Loni Kalbhor since past 11 months. Her relatives used to step out of their homes for their office jobs during the day. Meanwhile, she got introduced to Swapnil. Later he lured the girl into marriage and kept physical relationship with her. Swapnil had told the victim girl that he worked in a private company and that he would take care of her.
The girl realised in February month that she has conceived a baby. She told about this to Swapnil and to her relatives also. Swapnil promised her that they will get married in the next two to three months. But, after March lockdown was imposed in the state due to Covid-19 outbreak.
Swapnil told the girl that he is going to his native village and would return soon with more money. However, he did not return despite the lockdown was relaxed. Swapnil was contacted by the girl and her relatives during the last six months but he hasn’t responded to them. Hence, the girl decided to lodge a complaint against Swapnil. Police Inspector Bandgar is probing the case.
