Pune: Hotel operator injured in firing at Velhe tehsil, assailants flee towards Khed Shivapur

Pune: A 40-year-old man who operates a hotel in Dapode village of Velhe tehsil was seriously injured in a firing incident that took place on Sunday morning around 8.30am. The three bike-borne unidentified assailants fled towards Khed Shivapur after the incident.

The injured man has been identified as Vilas Nathu Borage (40), a resident of Karanjavane village in Vehle tehsil. He operates a hotel in Dapode village and stayed there for business purpose. The suspects whose identity is yet to be ascertained had come on a bike and opened fire on Borage, police said.

Meanwhile, the seriously injured man was taken to a private doctor’s clinic for treatment and later was shifted to a hospital. The attackers had worn black cloths and had covered their face completely. The bike used by the suspects had slipped near Shirgaon but they quickly recovered and fled through the Kusgaon Khind road towards Khed Shivapur.

Velhe police have registered a case against the suspects. Teams have been formed to trace the absconding suspects. Assistant Police Inspector Vinayak Devkar is probing the case.
