Pune Koregaon Park: Gold bangles worth Rs 4.18 lakh stolen from Tanishq Jewellery store on Bund Garden Road

Pune: Koregaon Park police have booked three unidentified women on charges of stealing gold bangles worth Rs 4.18 lakh from the Tanishq Jewellery store on Bund Garden Road on the pretext of buying some ornaments.

Prakash Poraje (34), a resident of Lohegaon, has filed a complaint in this regard at the Koregaon Park Police Station. Prakash works in the Tanishq store at Bund Garden Road. Based on his complaint, police have lodged FIR against three unidentified women. The three suspects have been booked under section of the 379 (punishment for theft) and 34 (common intention) Indian Penal Code.

According to police, the incident took place on January 3 evening at around 4.30 pm to 5pm. The FIR was lodged three days later on Wednesday (January 6). As per complaint filed by Prakash, the three women had entered the store at around 4pm. They reached on the second floor in the bangles section. They then managed to steal bangles worth Rs 4.18 lakh.

Police have started investigation into the matter and are scanning the CCTV footage inside and out of the store. Police Sub-Inspector Rupesh Chalke from Koregaon Park police station is investigating the case.
