Pune: A Police Sub-Inspector Rahim Bashir Chaudhari attached with the Nanded Police Unit, has been booked on charges of duping a lady constable and keeping physical relations with her on the pretext of marriage.
Rahim and the lady constable were knowing each other for a while now. Bashir was first working as a constable, after which he cleared the exam and was posted as a PSI in Nanded’s police control room.
Earlier, the lady constable was determined to not take the marriage proposal made by Bashir ahead as he already has a son to take care of. However, Bashir insisted that he would be a father to her child and would take entirely responsibility after which she agreed to get married.
The two engaged in November after which he demanded money and gold citing personal problems. He said that he wants to repay the loan taken during sister’s marriage and the fact that he has to construct a new house.
Going ahead, he however started denying the urge to get married right away but told her that she is the only one he wants to marry.
A complaint on the basis of cheating and rape has been given and the further inquiry is underway.
