Pune: Mountaineer Krishna Margale climbs Vajir pinnacle in 15 minutes

Pune: Sinhagad (Donje) lad, 23-year-old mountaineering enthusiast, Krishna Margale achieved an unique feat of climbing the Vajir Pinnacle in just 15 minutes. The Vajir pinnacle is located on south side of Mahuli fort in Shahapur tehsil of Thane district in Maharashtra.

Vijir pinnacle trek is considered by trekking enthusiasts to be one of the most difficult one. The pinnacle is 450 feet in height with with Mahuli fort situated at 2,800 feet above sea level. The pinnacle is called Vajir since it looks like the Queen piece in the game of chess.

Margale, had set a record by climbing the pinnacle in just 20 minutes last year. Now, he has broken his own record and set a new high by completing the same trek in just 15:50 minutes.

The campaign was led by Lahu Ughade of S L Adventures. Tushar Dighe and Shankar Margale were also involved in the campaign.

Several expeditions have been successfully carried out in the past by the group including the Vanarlingi, Dukes Nose, Tailbaila, Kalkarai, Lingana, Tanaji Kada etc. The Shivaji Raje Climbing Wall and Shivdurg Lonavala supported these expeditions.
