Rajkot : Coronavirus infection is on the rise in Gujarat. Night curfew is in force in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot in the state. It has been decided to allow 100 people to have a wedding at any place in the state. Rajkot police today announced that there is no need to seek permission for a wedding to be held during the day.

If there is a wedding in Rajkot now, people will not have to go to the police station for permission but special care should be taken that only 50 per cent of the capacity of the wedding venue and maximum 100 persons should be present. Earlier 200 people were allowed. But with the transition increasing, only 100 people are now allowed.

Earlier, it was mandatory to go to the nearest police station and submit the list of guests attending the wedding and get the approval. But now, daytime weddings will not need a permission. Police will not allow weddings at night, according to the government announcement.

For the last two or three days, the Rajkot police stations have been crowded with people seeking permission for the wedding. Social distance was also likely to be breached. That’s why this decision has been taken by Rajkot police.
