Betul: A tribal woman was attacked by powerful goons of the area in the middle of streets over dog scuffle. She was hauled outside the house, torn her clothes and beaten fiercely in the village of Chudiya. The police have filed reports on both sides. Meanwhile, the village bullies have threatened the woman.
The woman admitted in the district hospital said that she had a dispute with the domineering family members about the dog but later it was settled. However, the accused came again and entered the house and beat her including the females. Everyone dragged her to the middle of the road and tore her clothes. The woman alleges that the head of the family has also threatened to blow her up along with her family. The woman says the accused are now pressurizing her family to withdraw the report after brutally assaulting me naked.
The woman has complained to Betul SP. Sp in a statement said, ‘Tekra resident Suresh Yadav entered the house and started molesting her. When she protested, they started fighting. After this, along with Suresh, Jagoti Yadav, Maya Yadav and his relatives living in Dhamanya, dragged her to the road. The woman complained about this at the Chichauli police station, but was forced to compromise and took a thumb on blank paper’.
First police had filed a report in the assault
Police said that a case was registered on both sides after receiving information about the incident, but when it was reported that the clothes of the tribal woman had been torn up, the woman’s statement was taken in the hospital. The case has also been registered under the SCST Act. The police had only registered a case of assault, but when the woman made a statement in front of the media and the matter reached the SP, the female cell in-charge was sent to the hospital in a hurry and statements were taken.
Chicholi police station in-charge Deepak Parashar said that a case of assault has been registered against Suraj, Jamoti and Maya in this case. A case of assault has also been registered against the victim and her sister.
