Gujarat Coronavirus : Major increase in the need for medical oxygen in the state after Diwali

Gandhinagar : The number of coronavirus cases in Gujarat has crossed 2 lakh 11 thousand. There has been a big increase in new cases of corona after Diwali. More than 1500 cases are coming up in the state every day. So with the increase in Corona cases, the need for medical oxygen has increased significantly after Diwali.

Before Diwali in Gujarat, the daily requirement of medical oxygen for patients in Covid hospitals in the state was 129 metric tonnes. After Diwali, the daily demand for oxygen has increased to 192 metric tons. There were about 30 oxygen producers in the state when the corona epidemic was in initial stages. Today a total of 66 producers in the state have been licensed to manufacture oxygen.

Severe patients with corona need a lot of oxygen. Oxygen production in the state has also increased since the onset of corona transition. At present there is no shortage of oxygen in the state. The state is producing 900 metric tons of oxygen every day. A notification has also been issued to reserve 50 percent of the amount of oxygen for medical consumption to the producers to avoid the shortage of oxygen in the state.

A total of 2 lakh 11 thousand 257 cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Gujarat so far and 4 thousand 4 people have died due to the infection. So far 1 lakh 92 thousand 468 patients have recovered after treatment of corona in the state.
