Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar gave this information in Lok Sabha on Tuesday. He said that at present there is no proposal to increase the amount of the remaining installments under this scheme. It is noteworthy that under the PM-Kisan Yojana, 14 crore farmers across the country are given an amount of Rs 6,000 in three equal installments in a year.

Apart from this, the government told the Lok Sabha that 2.67 crore migrant laborers were given free ration under the Self-Reliant India Scheme in May and June after the COVID-19 outbreak. Minister of State for Food and Consumer Affairs Danve Rosahab Dadarao gave this information to the House. Under this scheme, 5 kg of food grains per person and 1 kg of pulses per family were given to the families who did not have ration cards of the center or the state. Initially the plan was for May and June. However, it was later extended to August.

The efforts of the state government to connect all the farmers of Jharkhand with the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan) are seen to succeed. Under PM Kisan, the process of registration of about 30 lakh farmers in the state has been completed, after verification, they will start getting the benefits of the scheme. At present 15.5 lakh farmers are getting the benefit of this scheme.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, a one-month special campaign was launched at the Agriculture Department level to connect all the farmers with the PM Kisan scheme. The result has come in the form of registration of more than 30 lakh farmers. However, the goal was to connect more than 32 lakh farmers with the benefits of this scheme. The details of the new farmers who have been registered have been sent to the Central Government.
