Pune: Archaeologists confirm skeleton found at Mandai to be of elephant

Pune: On finding unusual skeletons of animals at the metro construction site near Mandai on Wednesday, the residents of Budhwar peth and metro authorities were both stunned. With the growing curiosity and need to understand what these exactly were, the members of Archaeological Society of India were contacted.
The members of the ASI visited the spot on Thursday morning and it was declared that the skeleton mostly belongs to that of an elephant and is 150-200 years old.
Earlier it was being said that the skeleton dates to 2000 years old and could be one from the Peshwe era.
