Pune: PMC to begin COVID19 vaccination drive at Kamla Nehru Hospital; Know details here

Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will start the COVID19 vaccination drive at Kamla Nehru Hospital on Saturday (January 16) at 11 am. PMC has finalised eight centres for vaccinating the priority group of 55 thousand healthcare and frontline workers in the city.

The beneficiaries list prepared by the PMC consists of its own staff, healthcare workers and other priority group personnel.

  • Total 55 thousand persons registered for vaccination drive with PMC
  • Of these 11500 are government workers.
  • PMC has received 48 thousand vaccine doses till now
  • Number of vaccination centres will be increased later as per protocol

In a press conference organised on Friday (January 15), Mayor Murlidhar Mohol informed about the vaccination drive inauguration function. Deputy Mayor Saraswati Shendge, PMC Standing Committee Chairman Hemant Rasane, Leader of the House Ganesh Bidkar, PMC Additional Commissioner Rubal Agarwal and Health Chief Ashish Bharati were present during the conference.

As per the central government guidelines the vaccination drive will be carried out in four phases.

  • First Phase: Healthcare Workers
  • Second Phase: Other frontline workers like police and government officials
  • Third Phase: Senior citizens above 50 years of age and especially having comorbidities
  • Fourth Phase: Common citizens as per availability of vaccine doses

  • Kamla Nehru Hospital
  • Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Yerawada
  • Sassoon General Hospital
  • Ruby Hall Clinic
  • Noble Hospital, Hadapsar
  • Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Erandvane
  • Bharti Hospital, Dhankawadi

Mohol said, “As per the central government guidelines we are beginning the first phase of COVID19 vaccination drive on January 16 at 11am. About 100 persons will be vaccinated during the inauguration ceremony. Four government and four private hospitals have been selected by the PMC for the conducting the vaccination drive.”
