Pune: The applications for post-matric scholarship schemes for the academic year 2020-21 have been announced on Aaple Sarkar Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) – MahaDBT – portal. Social Welfare Commissioner Dr Prashant Narnaware has appealed students from the Scheduled Caste to apply for the scholarships before January 15.
The online scholarship portal MahaDBT of Maharashtra state government offers 38 post-matric scholarships which are given by different departments. Maharashtra domiciled students can apply for these scholarships through the portal. Students who wish to apply for these scholarships can visit https://mahadbtmahait.gov.in portal or call on toll number 02249150800.
Dr Narnaware has appealed to educational institutes to help SC students fill up the scheme forms to avail the benefits. “The educational institutes should scrutinise the application forms filled by the student and send eligible student’s application to the Social Welfare Assistant Commissioner office through online process,” he said.
“Every institute will be informed through the MahaDBT portal about the amount transferred to the student’s Aadhar linked bank account. Hence no educational institute should demand fee during the admission process from the SC students,” he said.
Eligibility
- Be a resident of Maharashtra
- Have parents/guardian’s annual income less than or equal to INR 2,50,000
- Belong to Scheduled Caste or Navbouddha community
- Have completed SSC or equivalent matric
- Be pursuing studies at the post-matric level
