Pune: BJP Corporator Manjusha Nagpure inspected the ongoing construction work of Prayeja City – Sun City bridge and instructed the officials to carry out the work as per highest standards. The bridge had got washed away in the heavy rains last year that wrecked havoc in the city.
This bridge and link road connecting the Prayeja City – Sun City road was important stretch for motorists coming from highway and heading towards Wadgaon Dhayari, Nanded and other areas. As motorists had no other option, they were using the Sinhagad Road for commuting to their destinations and thereby creating unnecessary jamming on the already-congested road.
In view of the above situation, Nagpure inspected the ongoing construction work of the bridge and link road. Additional Engineer Amar Shinde and other officials were present during the meeting.
The bridge construction work was started before the Covid-19 outbreak started in the city. After the outbreak, the bridge work was halted. Along with the bridge, the road along it will also be widened. The land required for this purpose has already been acquired.
Nagpure said, “I am personally reviewing the work regarding this bridge as it is very crucial link for the Sinhagad Road area citizens. I had correspondence with the PMC administration and officials regarding this several times and also asked the officials to visit the site on regular basis.”
