According to this research people who eat one or more than one (50gms) of eggs, Regularly increases the risk of diabetes by 60%. This makes it clear that eating an egg every day can be harmful. The prevalence of diabetes in China is now more than 11 percent, well above the global average of 8.5 percent, which is why diabetes has become a serious public health concern.

The economic impact of diabetes is also significant, accounting for 10 percent of global health expenditure ($760 billion). In China, diabetes-related costs have exceeded the US $ 109 billion. Pandemic expert and public health expert, Dr. Ming Li, says that increasing cases of diabetes are raising concern, especially in China where changes in traditional Chinese diets are affecting health. Dr. Li said “It has already been proven that diet is a factor that contributes to the onset of 2 diabetes. So understanding the extent of dietary factors that can affect the increased prevalence of the disease is extremely important. In the past few decades, China has gone through many changes in their diet. Mostly it’s seen that the traditional meal which included gram pulses, and vegetables have been replaced by the processed food, which has more snacks and meat but the value of the nutrient is very low. Dr. li also said that the growing demand for eggs in the diet is the main cause of diabetes. According to Dr. Li, the team found during research that in China, for people who eat more than 38 grams of eggs daily for a long time, the risk of diabetes increases by about 25 percent. On the other hand, if adults eat more than one egg daily, then the risk of diabetes increases by 60 percent. Its effect was seen more in women than in men.
