Mathura: Judge Chhaya Sharma, Mathura Senior Civil Court will hear the petition filed in the Shrikrishna Janmabhoomi title case on September 30. The petition has been filed by the Supreme Court advocates Harishankar Jain and Vishnu Shankar Jain. The petition was to be heard on Monday, but the petitioners did not reach the court.
The petition is filed on behalf of ‘Lord Shri Krishna Virajaman’, it has demanded the ownership of 13.37 acres of birthplace. On 12 October 1968, the land of Katra Keshav Dev was signed by the Shri Krishna Birthplace Society under which this land was decreed on 20 July 1973. The petition seeks dismissal of the decree.
The petition has been filed through advocate Ranjana Agnihotri, Pravesh Kumar, Rajesh Mani Tripathi, Kamlesh Kumar Shukla, Shivani Singh and Tripurari Tiwari. In the petition, the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board, Committee of Management Trust Shahi Masjid Idgah, Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Trust, Sri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan have been made defendants.
The petition filed on September 25 was to be heard in the court on Monday, but due to the non-appearance of the petitioners, Civil court Judge Chhaya Sharma fixed the hearing date on September 30. On the other hand, there was tight security in the court premises to hear the case. Security has also been increased on Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi.
According to historians, this grand temple built by Emperor Chandragupta Vikramaditya was attacked by Mahmud Ghaznavi in 1017 AD and demolished after looting it. Shri Krishna Janmasthan Temple has been broken three times and has been built four times. Still there is a dispute between the two parties for the ownership of Krishna Janmabhoomi as claimed by the petitioners.
